Professional Background

I completed my Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri and have been a Clinical Social Worker for over 20 years. I have worked in a variety of settings including child welfare, schools, outpatient community settings and private practice. I have spent the last 8 years specifically working in Higher Education and supporting the mental health needs of students. I have served on the Minnesota State Suicide Prevention Task Force and led my previous institution’s systemic efforts toward creating a campuswide culture to support mental health and wellness. I feel passionate about ensuing that our healthcare community has the supports and resources needed for sustainable careers in a fast- paced health care industry.

The foundation of my work is grounded in attachment and family systems theory, stress management, cognitive behavioral interventions, trauma informed interventions, and somatic experiences. While we all may face life challenges, we should not be defined by those challenges and my goal is to support you through the individual life circumstances and events which impact mental wellness. I utilize a variety of strategies which align with the individual and unique needs of each individual and meet you where you are at in your life’s journey.

I often find calm and peace working in my flower garden or sitting on my back deck.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking and exploring with my family. I also enjoy about anything that involves sunshine + water...boating, swimming, canoeing/kayaking.
