Lindsay Horton, M.S.
Professional Background
Prior to working as a Learning Specialist, my professional work has been within academic success programs in higher education. My responsibilities have focused on peer-led tutoring and mentoring programs, academic counseling and more. I worked as an Assistant Director in the Office of Academic Skills at Washington College (Chestertown, Maryland) where I coordinated a variety of academic support programs and academic accommodation services. I also served as an Assistant Director in the Academic Learning Center at the University of Kansas (Lawrence campus) coordinating academic support programming and working one-on-one with a variety of undergraduate and graduate students.
My goal as a Learning Specialist is to provide a space for all students to feel comfortable and confident towards reaching their goals. It's important to me to help bring approachable strategies to student's learning at KU Medical Center!
When not working, I am always enjoying time with my family. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, listening to music and trying new foods/recipes. And can't forget, I am a big St. Louis Cardinals fan!
