Alisa J. Bridge, MD, MS, FAAP
Professional Background
Dr. Bridge is currently Associate Professor of Pediatrics at KU School of Medicine--Wichita and a Pediatric Hospitalist at Wesley Children's Hospital. She also serves as the Assistant Clerkship Director for the Pediatric Clinical Clerkship, Director of Community Outreach for the Hospitalist Division, and was previously the Director of Telemedicine Services. Prior to coming to Wichita in 2017, Dr. Bridge was at the KU School of Medicine--Salina, where she helped to open that campus and was responsible for the clinical portions of the Pediatric Clerkship. Dr. Bridge spent the majority of her career practicing Pediatrics in rural areas in Kansas and Missouri. She serves as a resource for students and residents interested in pursuing practice in rural areas of our state. She has participated in teaching students and residents while practicing in rural areas since completion of her residency training. She also has a special interest in supporting Pediatric care in rural areas and critical access hospitals and is helping to explore telemedicine as a way to offer support to providers and patients in those areas.
Dr. Bridge received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in Madison, WI. She pursued residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. She had a special interest in patient stabilization and in transport medicine and participated in teaching PALS and on the Pediatric Transport Team. This additional training focus equipped her to work in rural areas where stabilization of patients for transport to tertiary facilities would be a necessary skill.
