Ahmed Badawi, MD, PhD

Professional Background
Dr Badawi is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Dermatology and is the Director of the complex medical dermatology residency curriculum. He obtained a PhD with honors in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Kansas. His research was focused on the development of peptide therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and was the recipient of the NIH Vaccinogenesis Training Grant. He went on to finish his MD at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. In medical school, he received the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Society awards in addition to the Russell Haden Medical Student Research Award. He completed his dermatology training at Washington University in St Louis where he also served as the Chief resident during his final year of residency. His clinical practice is primarily focused on complex medical dermatology with an interest in autoimmune and autoinflammatory cutaneous diseases and inpatient dermatology.
