Professional Background
Alejandra Camacho-Soto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has a subspecialty board certification in brain injury medicine. She is a graduate of the Rehabilitation Medicine Science Training Program where she began to explore the relationship between trauma and Parkinson's disease. She completed her masters in population health sciences at Washington University in St. Louis during her RMSTP training to gain further experience in epidemiology and health services research. She has extensive research experience working with Medicare-based datasets studying neurodegenerative diseases, particularly related to Parkinson's disease. Currently, she is funded through the Frontiers Clinical and Translational Science Institute KL2 program and is the PI and Co-PI of 2 Michael J Fox Foundation grants.
