Angela L. Hommertzheim, MS, RN, CEN

Professional Background

Angela Hommertzheim, MS, RN, CEN, is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She joined the faculty in Fall 2022 and teaches various undergraduate courses in the traditional BSN program, as well as the online Community College Nursing Partnership (CCNP) programs. Angela earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University in 2007 and her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 2022.

Angela’s diverse nursing background includes pediatrics, ER, trauma, travel nursing, and ER leadership positions such as charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, and nurse manager. She earned her specialty certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse in 2017. Throughout her career, Angela has been a mentor and preceptor for colleagues, numerous students, and new graduate nurses. She teaches nurses how to care for trauma patients as a Trauma Nurse Core Course instructor through the Emergency Nurses Association and maintains her current practice as an ER nurse with the St. Luke’s Health System.
