Recognition Committee

The WIMS Recognition Committee was established under the leadership of Brenda Rongish, PhD, during the 2010-2011 year. Among the committee's many accomplishments they first determined the focus was to establish ways to recognize and honor women on the faculty in the School of Medicine.

Mission

The mission of this committee is to give recognition to and promote the accomplishments of women faculty members in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions which might otherwise go unnoticed or overlooked.

Goals

The goal is to recognize our successful faculty through announcements, award of the WIMS scholarships to the AAMC Early and Mid-Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminars to help further advance their careers, and to reward through the selection process annual recipeints of the WIMS sponsored awards.

In addition to the specific WIMS projects, the committee oversees or serves as an advocate to ensure our women facluty are nominated for numerous other university, community or national forms of recognition, honors or awards.  The projects included are listed below with the due dates and criteria for each award.  At any time, the committe welcomes all suggestions.
