Program Committee

The mission of this committee is to plan all WIMS events and some of the programs recommended and sponsored by the University of Kansas Joy McCann Professor. "Events" included professional development programs, noon-time presentations, receptions, networking/mentoring or social gatherings and of course, the Annual WIMS Professional Development Conference and Dinner. Please contact one of the committee members with your suggestions.

The WIMS Program Committee is the largest committee with the most time intense set of responsibilities and thus is divided into three sub-committees.  Due to the amount of time and energy it takes to plan and maintain the series of WIMS events, co-chairs have been established to lead different aspects of planning events.  Program Committee members may elect to work on everything or they may select to focus only on: a) Annual Calendar of Events (the monthly series), b) the annual major event (dinner, and conference or retreat), or c) the Donation Drive which supports the conference.

There are two Program Co-Chairs, one oversees the monthly events and the other oversees the annual dinner/conference or retreat.  The Donation Drive is a sub-committee but due to the establishment of donor relationships and the professional experience required to run a drive, this administrative support person will remain the same from year to year and is overseen by the PDFA staff and the WIMS EC endowment member.

Subcommittees are populated in late spring, at the first meeting of the full program committee, before the term begins July 1st.  At that time, members and co-chairs may determine when and how they meet but at a minimum, all meetings should be scheduled for the full year, on routine day and time each month.  Appointments will be sent by the PDFA staff, including scheduling the rooms, sending the Outlook appointments and reminders, and posting all on the WIMS Calendar of Events.  Agendas and minutes are the responsibility of the co-chairs
