GENE ARRAY OF FOUR DAY DENERVATED MOUSE GASTROCNEMIUS MUSCLE

Conclusions

  1. Variation of gene expression among our three sample mice is very low, thus the changes can be statistically analyzed.
  2. Comparison of our data with known levels in the changes of AChR expression reveal that our results are very consistent with other published data.
  3. Denervation does not alter the expression of dystrophin or members of the dystroglycan complex.
  4. The sheer number of transcripts which were altered following denervation reveals that there must be a strong correlation between muscle fiber activity and gene transcription.
