Web Development Resource Guide

Since February 2006, KUMC departments and organizational units have been required to use a standard web templated design. The goal is to provide a consistent design that will help integrate and connect all KU and KUMC sites by providing a common visual identity.

The templates are compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for the State of Kansas, and follow the HTML 4.01 Strict, XHTML 1.0, and the Cascading Style Sheets, Level 2 standards.

There are a few ways of getting your web site updated.

  1. If you're already using a professional web design software package such as Dreamweaver, you can find out how to get the templates and hit the ground running.
  2. If your main job isn't managing a web site but you'd still like a way to easily update content, we are strongly recommending using a centrally-funded (free to departments) web publishing system called Contribute. Find out more about how you can get a copy of it and begin using it with the new template.
  3. If you're just starting out and need some guidance, contact Internet Development. We can consult with you on how best to get your KUMC university site up and running, free of charge. Contact:
