Priority Items for KUMC SitesThe guidelines are broken down into three levels of priorities, each with an implementation timeline associated with it (discussed later). Below are examples of each priority. See the Accessibility Checklist for specific information on each priority level. Priority OneText equivalents for every non-text item (graphics); providing contrasting colors between background and foreground (text); clearly identifying targets of each link, and many other items. Priority TwoUse markup rather than graphics to convey information; use relative rather than absolute units of measure in stylesheets; provide metadata for every page; create logical tab orders through links and form controls, among many others. Priority ThreeProvide navigation bars to highlight and give access to navigation mechanisms; keyboard shortcuts to important links in client-side images, form controls, and groups of controls, and many others. |
