As of February, 2006, KUMC departments and organizational units are being asked to adopt a new standard web templated design as soon as possible, but no later than January, 2007. Moving to a consistent design will help integrate and connect all KU and KUMC sites by providing a common visual identity and navigation links.
The templates are compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for the State of Kansas, and follow the HTML 4.01 Strict, XHTML 1.0, and the Cascading Style Sheets, Level 2 standards.
There are a few ways of getting your web site updated.
- If you're already using a professional web design software package such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage, you can find out how to get the templates and hit the ground running.
- If your main job isn't managing a web site but you'd still like a way to easily update content, we have purchased a new web publishing system called Contribute. Find out more about how you can get a copy of it and begin using it with the new template.
- If you're just starting out and need some guidance, contact Internet Development. We can consult with you on how best to get your KUMC university site up and running, free of charge.
