The hospital is offering several options to Westwood employees and members of their household who would like to quit using tobacco. Active participation in either program includes 12 weeks of free nicotine-replacement therapy: nicotine lozenge, patch, gum or nasal spray. Sign-up sheets and information are available in the Westwood vending break area.
- Freedom From Smoking, a program developed by the American Lung Association, will be offered from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Westwood. The program includes seven group counseling sessions over six weeks. For more information or to enroll, call 8-3335 (Respiratory Therapy).
- The KAN QUIT program includes four individual counseling sessions with tobacco treatment specialists, either in-person or by telephone. Kim Richter, a tobacco treatment specialist, will answer questions and sign up participants 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, outside the Westwood vending break area on the first floor.
