Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (Web Conferencing)

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is the supported web-conferencing solution used at KUMC. Your instructor may use Collaborate to host virtual classroom meetings, as well as online office hours. Instructors may also use Collaborate to set up virtual meeting rooms for students to meet in groups to work collaboratively.

If your instructor has informed you that Collaborate will be used during the course, it is recommended that you purchase a headset to use during the Collaborate meetings. This will provide a better audio experience than using your computer's speakers and microphone.

It is very important that you familiarize yourself with the information below prior to attending a Collaborate meeting. This will ensure that you have a successful experience.

How to Use

We have quick start guides for Instructors and Participants to help you set up your computer and make sure you have everything you need to participate in a Collaborate session.

You can also visit the official Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Help Site for tips, guides, and tutorials.

Tips for Using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

  • Double-check that your microphone headset is plugged in before you join your session.
  • For best results, use Chrome or Firefox web browsers.
  • Log in to your session early to ensure that your audio and video are set up correctly.
