Student Health Center Improvements

Effective with the fall 2005 semester, the student governing bodies at KUMC approved an increase in the Student Health Center fee. The effect of the fee increase is already bringing significant changes to the clinic for students:

• The clinic has added another physician to improve scheduling availability for students who need to see a medical doctor;
• The clinic has hired a new registered nurse which also increase the availability of health care professionals in the clinic; and
• The clinic has incorporated administrative changes such as filing certain insurance claims for students that are on the state-sponsored insurance plans or the plan endorsend by the KUMC Student Governing Council.

The Student Health Center and Division of Student Services are grateful to the support and vote of confidence that the KUMC students have expressed over the last year.
