Reasons why aid has not disbursed:

1. Student is not in enough hours to receive Federal Aid.

For Summer, a student must be in at least 3 hours to recieve Federal aid. Medical Students in a summer program must complete Summer Medical Application for Loans.

For Fall and Spring, a student is required to be in at least 6 hours in order to receive Federal aid. See next point for Consortium agreement details.

If a student is taking course at another school, a consortium agreement must be filed with the host institution to recieve aid. If this is not completed, and student is below 3 hours for Summer or 6 hours for Fall and/or Spring at KUMC, then no aid will disburse.

2. Master Promissory Note has not been signed with the lender.

If a Master Promissory Note (MPN) has not been completed by a student with a lender, then the Stafford Loans (Subsidized and Unsubsidized), Grad PLUS Loans, Parent PLUS Loans (For undergraduates), Perkins Loans, and Alternative Loans would not disburse.

Note: KU Endowment Loans require a separate application and will supply borrowers with an MPN after other steps in the application process are completed.

3. Financial Aid has not been accepted.
Students who are receiving Federal Aid will recieve an email to the KUMC address. Upon delivery of this email, the student is then able to view the updated financial aid status on Enroll & Pay and accept aid from there after choosing a lender. If this is not done, then aid will not be processed by the lender and the refunds will not be disbursed from the Accounting office.
4. Items on TO DO List have not been completed.

On Enroll & Pay, there is a TO DO List that shows if you have some processes that need to be completed. This can include: completing a Student Data Form (Medical Students are not required to complete this form); completing the Verification process (submitting the worksheet and copies of Federal Tax returns and W-2s, or submitting clarification items); submitting documentation for any FAFSA issues (Citizenship status, Selective Service documentation, etc..);
