Summer and Fall 2008 Enrollment Checklist for Students

This checklist provides an overview of the steps necessary to enroll at the KUMC campus for the Summer and Fall 2008 semesters. If you have questions you may contact The Office of the Registrar, 913-588-1055 or email kumcregistrar@kumc.edu.

Academic Calendar Information

  1. Beginning March 31, 2008, go to the Enroll and Pay system. KUMC Undergraduate and Graduate continuing students may begin enrolling on March 31, 2008. Newly admitted and readmitted students may begin enrolling on April 22, 2008.
    • To avoid late enrollment fees you must enroll by midnight June 2, 2008 (Summer) and Aug. 20, 2008 (Fall).
    • You must have departmental permission to enroll beginning June 10, 2008 (Summer) and Aug. 28 (Fall). You must bring your completed add forms to the Office of the Registrar, 3017 Student Center.
  2. Clear any enrollment holds. Follow the instructions noted on the Enroll and Pay system.
  3. Update your contact information. Update your contact information on the to Enroll and Pay system.
  4. Submit applications for tuition adjustments, if applicable. Types of tuition adjustments can be found at the residency website. Forms for applying for special rates can be found at the KUMC forms page. Check the Academic Calendar for submission deadlines.
  5. Students enrolling online should prepare a tentative schedule, including alternate courses.
  6. Make an appointment with your advisor.
    Be sure you obtain your advisor's release prior to leaving your appointment if a release is required.
  7. Obtain Special Permission/Approval Codes if necessary. These courses are displayed as Instructor consent or Department consent in the schedule of classes. Permission codes are available from the instructor or department (depending upon the type of approval required).
  8. Check for Class Availability. Class availability may be checked in the Schedule of Classes in the Enroll and Pay system. To enroll in a closed class, a permission number must be obtained from your instructor or department.
  9. Verify your schedule and assessment. If you note errors or have questions, contact the Enrollment area of the Office of the Registrar at 913-588-1055.
  10. Add/Change Sections if needed. Once you have enrolled you may make changes to your schedule online through June 9, 2008 (Summer) and Aug 27, 2008(Fall).
  11. Drop: online through June 11, 2008 (Summer) and Sept. 11, 2008 (Fall).

    CAUTION:
    The last day to receive a 100% refund/adjustment is June 2, 2008 (Summer) and Aug. 20, 2008 (Fall).

    Changes in your schedule after this date may result in partial or no refund of tuition. See Refunds/Adjustments for more detail.

  12. Pay your tuition and fees by the date specified on your invoice. Your fee assessment will be listed on the Enroll and Pay system. An e-bill notice will be sent to your KUMC e-mail account.
    If you do not pay in full or make arrangements with Student Financial Accounting by the date specified on your invoice, your account will be assessed a non-refundable $100 late payment fee.
  13. Total Withdrawals. Total withdrawals may not be processed online. Go to the withdrawal webpage for more information.
