Dr. Arthur Toga, Co-Director of the Neuropsychiactric Institute at UCLA, to Provide the A.L. Chapman Lecture at the SRF 2007 |

Arthur Toga, Ph.D., will provide the A.L. Chapman Lecture at the SRF 2007. Dr. Toga currently serves as the Co-Director of the Neuropsychiatric Institute, Division of Brain Mapping, at UCLA. In this role, Dr. Toga works as part of a global effort to develop a comprehensive mapping of the brain that will assist researchers and surgeons as they examine this critical human organ. Dr. Toga has a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, a M.S. in Neurosciences from St. Louis University, and a Ph.D. in Neurosciences as well from St. Louis University. In addition to his Director role, he has also served as a Professor in the Department of Neurology at UCLA since 1993. He has previously received many accolades for his research including the Smithsonian Award for Scientific Innovation. It is the vision of the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI) to improve the understanding of the brain in health and disease. The laboratory is dedicated to the development of scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of the brain structure and function. LONI has recently been featured in the National Geographic Magazine and was previously featured on the CBS special, "Fantastic Voyage". More information can be found at the following links: |
