Information for International Students
All full and part-time students attending the University of Kansas Medical Center must have proof of health insurance coverage as designated by the Schools of Health Professions, Nursing, and Medicine. Policies and guidelines pertaining to insurance coverage may vary according to academic program. Students should consult with their respective school to inquire about the health insurance policies that are applicable to them.
***For your convenience, we have implemented an online service to submit your health insurance information. This service can be found in myKUMC (https://my.kumc.edu) under the My Student Info tab.
The University of Kansas Medical Center offers a health insurance policy for eligible students. This plan, selected for the Kansas regents schools by the State of Kansas, is offered through Student Resources and is underwritten by UnitedHealthCare Student Resources. For information about the policy, please visit www.uhcsr.com/kumc.
It is very important not to confuse the Student Health Fee paid by students each semester with the cost of Health Insurance Premiums. They are two very different things. The Student Health Fee paid by all students contributes to the operational costs of the Student Health Clinic and entitles all students to free office visits with a health care provider. Student Health Insurance Premiums cover the cost of health insurance.
