KUMC Street Fair

On Saturday, April 9th, 2011, the University of Kansas Medical Center will be hosting our 12th annual Street Fair. For the past eleven years the Student Governing Council has partnered with the Rosedale Development Association to hold a community event to raise awareness of heath issues and money for a charitable organization in Wyandotte County. Having been "on the road" for the past couple of years, the students at KUMC are happy to be returning the event to it's roots, right here on the KUMC campus.

All residents from the Kansas City area, as well as students, faculty and staff from KUMC are invited!! Traditionally we have booths with games and health related information, health screenings, rides, entertainment and food. This year's theme: A Rosedale Revolution focuses on helping kids and families understand the importance of healthy eating and exercise.

The beneficiary of this year's Street Fair will be the KU Healthy Hawks Program. The Healthy Hawks Team at the University of Kansas Medical Center is dedicated to helping children and their families overcome issues they face concerning weight. A group of specialists come together to form the Healthy Hawks team in order to help families live healthier lives. The program consists of three different stages in order to suit a family's specific needs.2th Annual KUMC Street Fair: A Rosedale Revolution
