Syllabus Statement

For faculty who wish to encourage students to use the Writing Center, we offer the following statement for inclusion to their course syllabus:

The Writing Center offers students and residents a welcoming place—physical and virtual—where they can get feedback on their writing. Staffed by Graduate Writing Specialist Andrés Rodríguez, the Writing Center offers free tutoring on writing assignments, cover letters, personal statements, fellowship applications, proposals, dissertations, and more. It also conducts workshops, presents talks, and supports writing groups. The goal is to make students and residents more effective, confident writers by providing feedback on their work and advice on their writing process. We are located in Dykes Library, G011. Appointments can be made online at https://medconsult.kumc.edu or by phone (913-945-8477).
