Ph.D. Candidate in Counseling Psychology, University of Missouri-Kansas City
M.A. in Counseling and Guidance, University of Missouri-Kansas City
B.S. in Psychology, University of Central Missouri
I received my BS in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri, and my MA in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Currently I am pursuing my PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Prior to coming to KUMC, I have worked at William Jewell College and Rockhurst University in their college counseling centers. I continue to serve as adjunct faculty at William Jewell College, teaching Career Explorations and assisting students in finding potential career paths. My research interests lie within motivational concepts, particularly that of psychological flow. I enjoy working with individuals in a variety of areas including anxiety, stress, coping, relationships, and identity development. I view therapy as a place for growth and change; through the process, I help to empower individuals to find the strength to make the growth and changes they see fit for their lives.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Chris, and our two cats and dog. I volunteer much of my time with the Missouri Leadership Seminar, where I have served on the Board of Directors for the past eight years and currently hold the position of Chairperson. I love to bake and experiment with new recipes when I get the chance.
