For more than 20 years, I have worked in outpatient and inpatient hospital settings, in New York, Chicago, and Kansas City.  I received my graduate training at Smith College, and Northwestern University, and am a licensed psychologist in Missouri and Kansas.  Although I'm originally from the east coast, I am proud to call Kansas City "home."

I am currently an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, and have taught at UMKC, Avila, Ottawa, and Friends Universities.  I have consulted and presented locally and nationally on the relationship of emotional intelligence and professional success.  I have authored more than a dozen articles on that topic for the popular press.  My colleagues and I at Student Counseling and Educational Support Services work to translate the latest research and thinking into everyday practical solutions for students, residents, and staff.
