Counseling & Educational Support Services
M.S. Educational Leadership, Rockhurst University
B.S. in Business Administration, University of Kansas
After earning my B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Kansas, working as an Investment Executive and raising three children, I chose to pursue my fascination of the sciences. With a foundation in biology, chemistry and physics in place, I faced the decision: research, teach or practice.
As a KUMC learning specialist, I combine all three disciplines. I love the challenge of coaching and empowering people to reach their full potential.
Here in Counseling and Educational Support, we work as a team of learning specialists, psychologists, career specialist, writing specialist, and psychiatrist to provide support for the whole person. Nothing is more rewarding to me than seeing the look on students' faces when a concept comes together in their minds. Our team is ready to help you reach your personal goals. We offer facilitated content connection and question groups to medical students, facilitated question groups to nursing students, and individual educational counseling to all students at KUMC. These sessions are available both live and via secure videoconferencing. KUMC students' diverse backgrounds contribute to a vibrant, highly motivated learning environment and feed my passion for lifelong learning.
In May 2013, I earned my Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Rockhurst University. My studies and research at Rockhurst University bring the latest educational strategies to our students at KU Medical Center. From mind mapping to testing strategies to oral presentation critiques, our team in Counseling and Educational Support can help you raise your game.
In my free time, I enjoy long walks with my husband, gardening, swimming, tennis, puzzling, reading and travelling to visit our three children.
