Michael Kennedy, MD
Dr. Michael Kennedy joined the University of Kansas Medical Center faculty in 2002 and was promoted to associate dean in 2008. Most recently he was named the medical director for the new Institute for Outreach and Community Engagement at KUMC. He serves as the course director for the Rural Preceptorship in Kansas City, which is is one of the longest running, required rural preceptorships in the country.
He was in rural private practice for nine years in Burlington, Kansas. During that time he precepted many students in his practice.
A Kansas native, Dr. Kennedy graduated in 1973 from Topeka High School and received his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. He received his medical degree and served his residency at KU.
