Cost of Attendance/Student Budgets
The department of Student Financial Aid calculates budgets for every student who applies for aid at KUMC in order to determine a student's need.

When you complete the FAFSA, the federal government determines the amount that you have available from your own resources to help pay for your college expenses. This is called your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). We use your EFC to determine how much need-based financial aid you are able to receive by using the following formula:
Cost of Attendance (COA)
- Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
= Financial Need
The total amount of need based financial aid programs you receive can not exceed your Financial Need. A list of financial aid programs available can be found on links marked Grants/Scholarships and Loans.
