Transfer Policy

Applications for transfer into the third-year class are accepted if space becomes available.

Transfer applicants must:

• Be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status and, preferably, be legal residents of Kansas.
• Be enrolled in a U.S. or Canadian medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
• Have successfully completed all course work in a preclinical curriculum comparable to that of the KU School of Medicine.
• Have passed Step 1 of the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE).
