COMPARATIVE STATISTICS

The drop in applicant registration and rank list submission since 1995 has leveled off with a slight increase this year. Forty four more applicants participated in CAS and programs ranked 32 more applicants than last year. Higher vacancy rates (unmatched positions) of recent years dropped in this match. The average USMLE Step 1 score for those matched continues to rise (234 this match over 226 five years ago). The number of positions offered in this match increased over recent years in part due to an increase in RRC approved positions.
