GME prepares physicians for practice in a medical specialty. The single most important focus of the GME Office is to provide residents and fellows in programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) with organized educational support, guidance, and supervision in order to ensure their professional and personal growth while also ensuring safe and appropriate patient care. The quality of the GME Office is directly related to the quality of patient care.

The services of the OME include:

  • Coordinate the undergraduate medical curriculum.
  • Coordinate the Introduction to Clinical Medicine (ICM) courses.
  • Coordinate the Standardized Patient Program.
  • Evaluate the curriculum and provide Evaluation Services for courses.

Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) services are no cost to KUMC faculty and staff for credit-based courses and work-related training. Help is also purchased through hourly fees for grant funded projects and by others wishing to utilize our services. These services include:

  • consulting with faculty on generating materials for entire courses or for course modules such as lectures, demonstrations, and labs;
  • consulting with faculty on the design, delivery, and analysis of online tests and surveys;
  • training and assistance for ANGEL online courses;
  • training and support for online testing;
  • supporting the design and delivery of synchronous web delivered events;
  • assisting schools and faculty in designing and creating student ePortfolios.
  • developing curricular-support materials including digitized images, digitized sound, animation, graphic illustrations, and digitized video;
  • providing instructional video development services in conjunction with Instructional Services;
  • participating in grants and educational research; and
  • presenting at various seminars and workshops as needed.

TLT is a support unit within Information Resources that consults with faculty on the design and delivery of curriculum, learning activities and assessments. TLT assists faculty in design and delivery of online courses and content within ANGEL. To learn more about TLT or to request assistance, please contact Mr. Cheney at extension 8-3678.
