Research Committee


The Research Committee represents the Faculty in matters concerning policies and procedures governing the conduct of research.

Membership

  • five members of basic science departments
  • four members of clinical departments (at least one from the Wichita campus)
  • one medical student (observer)

Eligibility is restricted to individuals who have held an extramural research grant within the three years proceeding the time of election. No more than two members of the Research Committee may be from a single department.

Duties

  • making recommendations concerning research programs, including intramural funding and research space
  • performing peer review of ongoing research programs and new programs seeking resources from the School
  • planning and implementing programs to enhance the research environment
  • assisting in the development of research in the School
