Executive Committee


The Executive Committee conducts the day to day business of the faculty.

Membership

  • departmental chairs (3 Kansas City, 1 Wichita)
  • leaders of the Faculty Council (chair, chair-elect, vice chair & vice chair elect)
  • chairs of standing committees
  • the four elected members-at-large of the Faculty Council 
  • Executive dean and Wichita Dean

Duties

The broad scope of the Executive Committee includes:

  • Providing liaison between the faculty and administration of the Medical Center through the Executive Dean
  • Implementing the recommendations of the Faculty Council
  • Presenting recommendations to Faculty Council
  • Advising the Executive Dean
  • Considering reports from the standing committees
  • Recommending individuals for search committees and ad hoc groups
  • Participating in selection of the Executive Dean
  • Considering the regular reviews of academic departments
  • Calling meetings of the Faculty Council

Process

Executive Committee meets at least once per month. Agenda prepared by Executive Dean in consultation with chair of Faculty Council Ten voting members required for a quorum.
