On-Boarding Overview

When it comes to On-Boarding our new faculty members, (even individuals who trained with us) the Internet is our most powerful tool. The most effective follow-through to a good hiring process is an equally strong on-boarding program. Using internet based technology and best practices - we are able to accelerate the time-to-performance of new faculty by weaving them into their new environments more quickly and thoroughly. Our Web-based new faculty On-Boarding goals include:

  1. Make the transition easier so new faculty members will no longer feel, "nobody told me."
  2. Automate routing of up information to new faculty members through out departments.
  3. Generate self-service portals to push time sensitive instructions to new hires and answers to common "new job" questions.
  4. Prevent "red-tape" hassles and delays with seeing first patients or beginning research upon arrival
  5. Create effective, lasting relationships with new hires.
  6. Provide tools and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles - which benefits both the new faculty member and the institution.

A bird’s eye MAP of our campus in Kansas City will help you acclimate to the buildings and services that comprise the KUMC community. For Wichita’s information you will need to check their website for resources specific to their campus including the dean's message, departmental listings, announcements and more.

There are many critical time sensitive steps which can or must be completed before the new hire arrives, and many which must be completed before seeing patients or starting your research on campus..
