On-Boarding New Faculty Members

The "GO TO" PEOPLE Departments assign an On-Boarding AMBASSADOR to serve as the individual to help with all administrative and basic logistical orientation to work questions: logistical issues, facility tours, and introduction to people in the department. Ambassadors may be department chairs, division directors, department administrators, administrative assistants or anyone within a department who is best qualified to handle this responsibility. Department chairs and their Faculty Development Committees ~ Under construction are currently working with PDFA to develop a website for their respective Faculty Development and Mentoring guidelines. All other departments are welcome to contact PDFA for assistance or to have their existing mentoring program link added. Programs and websites do not have to be based upon the School of Medicine's Faculty Mentoring Initiative. Marty McLaughlin, the Associate Director of PDFA is available to facilitate the department committee or chair through the process of establishing a new program, assist with determining what each department wants on their website, and creating the website for them.

MERIT, ADVANCEMENT AND/OR PROMOTION ARE ASSESSED ACCORDING TO THE MISSION CRITERIA OF EACH ACADEMIC TRACK IN THE SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
