Denial Letters: Individual faculty members who have been denied at the School level, must be informed in writing by the Executive Dean (with a copy to Academic Affairs) that they have the right to appeal the decision. The appeal must be filed by the faculty member within two weeks of notification by the Executive Dean. |

Appeal Deadline: 5:00 p.m. Faculty members may file a procedural appeal with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. (See Handbook for Faculty...III.Part 6.D.2 -- page 93) |

Executive Vice Chancellor forwards recommendation list to the Chancellor for final approval. |

Chancellor either approves or denies individual recommendations and communicates decisions to the EVC who in turn notifies individual faculty members in writing with copy to Department Chair (and Dean on Wichita campus, when applicable). Promotion and/or tenure becomes effective with the new FY 09 beginning July 1, 2008.
Chancellor forwards the approved list of faculty members receiving promotion and/or tenure to the Board of Regents for the regular Board Meeting in May. |
