Jamie L. Wagner, DO, FACOS

Breast Surgery


Dr. Wagner was born in western Kansas then moved to Kirksville, MO with her family as a child. She continued her education in her hometown where she attended Truman State University to obtain a B.S. in Health Science and medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM). She completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. She then moved further south to Houston, TX where she completed a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center then remained there as a faculty member of the Department of Surgical Oncology.

As a result of her strong academic experience, Dr. Wagner continues to pursue her research interest in breast cancer. She has a particular interest in breast cancer related lymphedema and novel surgical techniques. Dr. Wagner is passionate about her research as it directly impacts the patients she treats. She is dedicated to her patients with a compassionate personal approach.

Dr. Wagner is married to Dr. German Berbel who is a General Surgeon at KUMC. They have two sons under the age of 3, so when not working, her time is fully occupied as a wife and mother.
