James M. Howard, MD, FACS

Dr. Howard is from the Kansas City area. He attended the University of Kansas as an undergraduate and received his degree in Cellular Biology. He then attended the University of Kansas Medical School and graduated in 2004. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Kansas before he attended the Ohio State University for fellowship training. In Ohio, his training was in trauma, critical care, and burns.

Dr. Howard is double board certified in general surgery and critical care. He is currently the co-director of the Burnett Burn center and the surgical intensive care unit. His research is focused on the inflammatory pathways in burns.
