Overview

Long a feature of the industrial and business worlds, Quality Assurance (QA) is a growing concern in health care settings.  Successful QA programs ensure the safety of patients and personnel while delivering high quality health care and assuring the best use of resources with a team-based and evidence-based approach to solving problems, setting goals and analyzing results.  Currently, many procedures involving radiation are complex and require a multi-step process, each stage of which may be prone to mistakes, deviations or variation in interpretation.  The KU Department of Radiation Oncology is firmly committed to quality and safety in everything we do and is taking the lead to develop new standards for practices across the country.
