Curriculum vitae

Dr. Pokhrel completed a residency program in Radiation Oncology Physics at Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. In 2010, Dr. Pokhrel received his PhD in Medical Physics (CAMPEP) from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Pokhrel studied Low Energy Nuclear Physics for his Master of Science degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. In 2001, Dr. Pokhrel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Dr. Pokhrel's areas of expertise include:

  1. SRS/ SBRT/ VMAT and brachytherapy treatment planning, optimization and delivery,
  2. Monte Carlo based treatment planning, radiobiological modeling and in vivo dosimetry,
  3. Quality assurance and commissioning of medical linear accelerator including MLC, HDR after loader and IGRT system,

He is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), Midwest Chapters of AAPM, and the Nepal Physical Society (NPS).
