Dr. Pokhrel completed a residency program in Radiation Oncology Physics at Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. In 2010, Dr. Pokhrel received his PhD in Medical Physics (CAMPEP) from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Pokhrel studied Low Energy Nuclear Physics for his Master of Science degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. In 2001, Dr. Pokhrel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Dr. Pokhrel's areas of expertise include EBRT / brachytherapy planning and delivery, quality assurance and commissioning, independent MU calculation and special clinical procedures such as TBI/TSE, MOSFET, OSLD, diode, film, TLDS, Varian PRM system, Elekta bellows, 4DCT, 4D CBCT. He is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest Chapters of AAPM, and the Nepal Physical Society (NPS).
