Ashley Erin Belcher, D.O. joined the Psychiatry faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2015.  She currently holds appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and supervises residents on the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison service, the Outpatient Clinic and the Psychiatry Liaison Service in the Emergency Department.

Dr. Belcher received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia in 2010.  She completed her adult psychiatry residency training at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio in 2014.  During her fourth year of residency, Dr. Belcher earned the Excellence in Psychiatric Education Award for exemplary contributions in psychiatric education and mentorship.  Following residency, Dr. Belcher worked in community mental health prior to her appointment as faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center.  Her focus is on psychodynamic psychotherapy, personality disorders and psychiatric resident and medical student education and mentorship.
