Amad U. Din, M.D., M.P.H. joined the Psychiatry faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center in August of 2013. He received his medical degree from King Edward Medical University. He completed his residency training in Psychiatry and his Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship training at the University of Kansas Medical Center. During his last year of psychiatry residency, Dr. Din served as the Chief Resident of the Psychiatry Residency Program. He completed his M.P.H. from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where he received the International Student of the Year Award and Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. His interests in clinical psychiatry and research include depression, anxiety, bipolar and addiction disorders. 

He has published research in the areas of academic psychiatry, sleep disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and addiction disorders. Additional interests include playing cricket, badminton and reading. He has served as a Staff Psychiatrist and as Medical Director of the Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program at the VA Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. He has also served as a member of the Institutional Biosafety Committee at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and has chaired the Assessment and Evaluation Committee of HIV Care and Prevention Consortium.

Dr. Din is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. He holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and also functions as the Associate Program Director of the Addiction Fellowship Program and is the Director of the Methadone Clinic for Opiate Addiction. Dr. Din supervises residents during their Methadone rotation as well as when they rotate in the KU Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic.
