Teri Smith, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist who completed her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in December 1995 and became a member of the faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center in November 2002.

Prior to joining the staff at KUMC, Dr. Smith worked at Rainbow Mental Health Facility as a staff psychologist and the Director of Psychology. Dr. Smith has been a national speaker for the American Dental Association; topics on which she speaks include personal growth, office interpersonal skills, and motivation.

Since arriving at KUMC, she has been active in delivering lectures to the psychiatry residents, interns, and child fellows on a variety of subjects, including cognitive behavioral therapies, Jungian analytic psychology, and child and adolescent treatment topics, including autism spectrum disorders and psychological testing. She is also a researcher and author.

In addition to lecturing and seeing patients, Dr. Smith works at Marillac Center where she is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and conducts psychological testing with children and adolescents.

Additionally, Dr. Smith has been involved in the leadership of both Kansas Psychological Association and the Greater Kansas City Psychological Association for many years.
