Edward E. Hunter, Ph.D., ABPP, Clinical Associate Professor and is board certified in clinical psychology, is the Director of Training in the Division of Psychology.  He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Auburn University in 1984 and did his internship at Baylor College of Medicine.  He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in family therapy with other post-doctoral training in clinical interventions and testing.  His activities include the design of the curriculum and clinical rotation structure for the clinical psychology internship, as well as oversight of the post- doctoral fellowships and practicums in the Division of Psychology.  He supervises residents in psychotherapy and teaches residents, medical students and psychology trainees in their core didactics.  He publishes in major peer-reviewed journals on a variety of topics.  His clinical work is predominantly with outpatients. He utilizes the most up to date evidence-based approaches to psychological intervention, and conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations using psychological and neuropsychological tests.  Clinical interests include anxiety disorders, stress, anger management and somatoform disorders.
