Training Overview

  • In-person, 3 ½ day, accredited program focused on skills building
  • Covers core competencies with a nationally-accredited TTS curriculum
  • Participants will learn how to deliver moderate-to-intensive tobacco treatment services
  • Requires prior completion of an 8-hour online "basic skills" training (free CEUs provided)

Scholarships

  • Ten scholarships are allocated for the training with priority given to those who serve behavioral health populations (mental health, and substance use treatment)
  • Travel, lodging, expenses covered for providers who work with behavioral health populations

Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • Must work in a Health Care Setting in Kansas
  • Must be tobacco-free for six months prior to attending Core Training
  • Community health workers
  • Health educators, social workers
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Dental hygienists
  • Substance abuse counselors
  • RNs/ LPNs
  • Administrators
  • Physicians
  • Other health/social service professionals
