Robert H. Lee, Ph.D.
Dr. Lee teaches Health Care Economics, Designing Health Care Organizations, Introduction to Operations, and a PhD seminar. His current research emphasizes analyses of treatment innovations. Recent publications appear in Obesity, Journal of Applied Statistics and Health Services Research. In addition, Dr. Lee’s text, Economics for Healthcare Managers, is an AUPHA published textbook and has been widely adopted in health administration programs.
Dr. Lee is an active member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), the Association for Health Services Research, and the Academy for Healthcare Improvement. Dr. Lee has served the Health Policy Management department in a variety of administrative positions, including an appointment as the department’s Interim Chair from 1997-2000 and the MHSA Program Director from 2004-2014, and then the chair of the department.
Dr. Lee received a PhD in economics from The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to coming to the University of Kansas in 1991, he held positions at the University of North Carolina, the Urban Institute, and the Brookings Institution.
