Pancreatitis is the inflammatory disorder of pancreas due to the damage of exocrine acinar cells. Impaired autophagy and lysosomal functions have been implicated in experimental and human pancreatitis but the mechanisms remain largely unknown. My research focuses on the role and mechanisms of transcription factor EB (TFEB), a master regulator of lysosomal biogenesis, in the pathogenesis of pancreatitis.
