Executive Dean's recommendations and denials are forwarded to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Denial Letters: Individual faculty members, who have been unsuccessful at the School level, must be informed in writing by the Executive Dean (with a copy to Academic Affairs) that his/her request for promotion and/or tenure has been denied and that he/she has the right to appeal the decision. The appeal must be filed by the faculty member within two weeks of notification from the Executive Dean. |

Appeal Deadline: 5:00 p.m. Faculty members may file a procedural appeal with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. (See Handbook for Faculty...III.Part 6.D.2 -- page 93.) Applicants are instructed not to contact any member of the SOM Appointments, Promotions and Tenure Committee (Kansas City or Wichita Campus). |

Executive Vice Chancellor forwards recommendations for Promotion and/or Tenure to the Chancellor for final approval. |

Chancellor either approves or denies individual recommendations and communicates decisions to the EVC who in turn notifies individual faculty members in writing with a copy to the respective Department Chair (and Dean on Wichita campus, when applicable). Promotion and/or tenure becomes effective July 1, 2014. |
