Research Focus

Molecular diagnosis is irreplaceable when phenotypic tests are not diagnostic, such as prenatal diagnosis, identification of genetic risk factors, distinguishing individuals using genetic markers, monitoring minimal residual disease, determining underlying pathology, and more. Genetic tests are applicable for many diseases. The number of such tests is growing very fast. The genetic tests actually running in a clinical lab, however, can hardly meet the clinical demand. Our focus is to develop and validate molecular diagnostic assays for inherited diseases and cancers, using state-of-the-art, automated equipment. We develop and provide innovative oncology tests to support management of cancer patients. Finding new prognostic biomarkers that provides quantitative assessment of the likelihood of cancer recurrence in patients is our interest too. Our lab helps clinician to personalize medicine and drug screening/trial, provide researchers with high throughput technologies, and to assist in their projects and drug discovery.
