Dr. Marius Tarau is currently the Chief Medical Examiner and Forensic Pathologist at the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office (JCMEO) in Kansas City, Missouri. He began his career as a Deputy Coroner in 2006 while completing a one-year fellowship in forensic pathology at the Dayton (Ohio) Coroner's Office. He then was a Medical Examiner-Forensic Pathologist in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 2008-2011, after which he became Deputy Medical Examiner at JCMEO and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to his fellowship training, he earned the title Doctor of Medicine after completing medical school in Romania. He then completed a four-year residency in both clinical and anatomic pathology in New Jersey.
