Dr. Diane Peterson is the Chief Medical Examiner at the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office in Olathe Kansas. She began her career as a Deputy Medical Examiner in 2010, promoting to Interim Chief and then Chief Medical Examiner at the Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office. She was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City starting in 2010 and was an Adjunct Instructor in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the UMKC School of Pharmacy during 2012 - 2013. Prior to her fellowship training, she earned her Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, after which she went on to complete a four-year residency in both clinical and anatomic pathology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year in the program.
