There are multiple lifestyle and education benefits for the OTOHNS residency at The University of Kansas. Residents receive a competitive stipend, (including annual raises and cost of living increases), as well as health and disability insurance. Kansas City offers a relatively low cost of living; due to this fact, the majority of our current residents own their homes.
Incoming residents receive the Cummings Otolaryngology textbook and subscriptions to Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Also provided are white coats, KUMC parking, medical licenses, and a head mirror. Residents are provided pagers by the department.
